The Iowa baseball team hosts Michigan for a three-game series this weekend at Duane Banks Field in Iowa City.
Iowa (17-17, 7-7 Big Ten) will try to take advantage of the opportunity of playing No. 21 Michigan (26-9, 6-2) at home as the Wolverines — winners of five straight games — have put together one of the better campaigns this spring not only in the Big Ten, but nationally.
After using the same weekend starting rotation all of 2015, coach Rick Heller's club will introduce their fifth different group this season. Sophomore right-hander C.J. Eldred (2-4, 2.70 ERA) takes the mound Friday in the first game, with junior left-hander Ryan Erickson (1-0, 3.90 ERA) and senior right-hander Calvin Mathews (0-3, 6.92 ERA) taking the ball the next two days, respectively.
Michigan will counter with three lefty starters in a row.
First pitch for Game 1 is set for 6 p.m. Friday, followed by contests at 3 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday.
