Senior Kevin Lewis earned first-team All-Big Ten honors with a sixth place finish at the 100th running of the Big Ten cross country championship on Sunday at the Ashton Cross Country Course in Iowa City.

Lewis finished the 8,000-meter race in a career-best time of 23:52 to help the Iowa men’s team to an eighth place team finish.

With his performance on Sunday Lewis became the third Hawkeye to earn first-team all-conference honors with a time that ranked eighth in program history.

Ever runner in Iowa’s lineup on both the men’s and women’s team posted career-best times on Sunday.

The Hawkeye women placed 11th in the team standings.

Senior Ben Witt finished 34th for Iowa in a time of 24:24 while sophomore Kevin Docherty was 44th in 24:39.

Sophomore Katie Adams led the Iowa women placing 50th in the 6,000-meter race in a time of 21:21.

Samantha Zishka finished 60th for Iowa.
