It's been a wild 72 hours for Hawkeye fans.

Joy over Saturday's win at Rutgers was quickly extinguished by news late Monday that Matt VandeBerg is out with a broken foot (he may qualify for a medical redshirt, however).

Without their star receiver, Iowa (3-1) will have to adjust their offense when they face Northwestern (1-3) at Kinnick Stadium this weekend.

The Hawkeyes face other challenges this week. Iowa fell out of the Top 25 and new leaders will need to emerge to get the football team back on track. And even before the MVB news, Iowa wide receivers were struggling to get open.

Join columnist Chad Leistikow (@ChadLeistikow) and recruiting reporter Chris Cuellar (@cuellarchris) on the Hawk Central Facebook page live at noon Wednesday to talk all things Hawkeyes football. Tune in to Facebook to ask them questions live in the comments or tweet them in advance. They'll do their best to answer all of them.
