Sports Illustrated's Andy Staples reacts to Washington being listed outside of the top four in the first College Football Playoff rankings. Time

While the committee has Washington out of the College Football Playoff right now, the Huskies are in the field in the latest USA TODAY Sports bowl projections.

The path for Washington is simple: Win the final four games of the regular season (at Cal, USC, Arizona State and at Washington State) and then survive the Pac-12 title game. That will be more than enough to move them past Texas A&M, which currently holds the fourth spot.

The big change to this week's projections saw Tennessee, Boise State and West Virginia all fall out of the major bowls after losses. Moving in are Florida, Western Michigan and Wisconsin.

Reminder: Notre Dame is part of the ACC bowl pool. Some conferences may not fulfill their bowl allotment. Asterisks denote a replacement pick.
