Former Iowa basketball player Gabe Olaseni and Northern Iowa's Seth Tuttle signed with the Miami Heat as free agents.

Gabe Olaseni and Seth Tuttle weren't among the 60 players taken during Thursday's NBA Draft, but they'll get a crack at the league after all.

Olaseni told the Register on Friday that he had joined the Miami Heat as a free agent, and Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders reported that Tuttle had done same.

The two players would most likely provide bench depth behind big-man starters Hassan Whiteside and Chris Bosh should they make the team.

The next stop is the NBA Summer League, where they'll get a chance to make an impression not only on the Heat but the other 31 teams. If they don't make it into an NBA training camp and onto a 15-man roster, they could attempt to play overseas or in the NBA Development League.

The 6-foot-10 Olaseni, who is from London, England, said Friday night that he had multiple free-agent offers, but that the Heat "showed the most interest, and I fit well with the guys they have this summer."
