UI roundup: Suarez leads Iowa women's golf
The University of Iowa women's golf team finished the first day of the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational on Monday in Starkville, Miss., tallying a first round 298. The Hawkeyes tied for sixth with Memphis in the field of 13 team following 18 holes, with two rounds to play remaining.
Freshman Elisa Suarez had the best round for Iowa, posting an even-par 72.

• SOCCER: Iowa senior Cloe Lacasse has been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced Monday by the league office. The honor is the second of Lacasse's career.
The Sudbury, Ontario, native earned the accolade after scoring two goals and tallying a pair of assists in leading the Hawkeyes to a 2-0 weekend with victories over Indiana and Purdue. The forward assisted on the game-winning strike in a Senior Night triumph over the Hoosiers before scoring twice and assisting on the game-winner in a 3-1 win over Purdue.
• WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Iowa women's basketball coach Lisa Bluder and seniors Bethany Doolittle and Samantha Logic have been honored by College Sports Madness. College Sports Madness has tabbed Bluder as its Preseason Big Ten Coach of the Year, and named Logic (first team) and Doolittle (fourth team) to its preseason All-Big Ten team. Logic also has been named to the College Sports Madness Preseason All-America third team.
