Iowa women start Big Ten play with win at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. — The No. 25 Iowa women's basketball team started conference play with a 74-68 win Thursday at Nebraska.

Iowa (11-2, 1-0 Big Ten Conference) won its third straight game and fourth against Nebraska (9-3,0-1). The Hawkeyes led 42-28 at the break and went up by as many as 16 points in the second half.

Iowa junior Ally Disterhoft led the team with a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Chase Coley tallied 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting and Alex Kastanek recorded 13 points.

The Hawkeyes outrebounded Nebraska, 51-29, and got 18 points from their bench.

Iowa hosts former head coach C. Vivian Stringer and her Rutgers squad at 7 p.m. Monday. The Hawkeyes will try to win a consecutive 25 games at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
