As if the state’s biggest rivalry needed anymore build up.
The annual Cy-Hawk football game is apparently getting some anyways.
ESPN’s Brett McMurphy tweeted Thursday that the Iowa vs. Iowa State showdown in Iowa City on Sept. 10 will be a Big Ten Network primetime game.
Iowa and Iowa State under the lights? Sounds like it's happening.
Spokesperson from both schools wouldn’t confirm that it was happening. Steve Roe, Iowa’s director of athletic communications, said he had no timetable on when a game time could be announced. The reason for the wait?
“The release of information regarding prime time games comes to our office from the Big Ten Conference,” Roe said. “The order includes the ESPN network of stations selections first, followed by Big Ten Network selections."
