No. 15 Iowa baseball defeats Sacramento State in 18 innings

The No. 15 Iowa baseball team went the distance with Sacramento State Tuesday — 18 innings to be exact.
Iowa tied the game at 2-2 after the fifth, then again at 3-3 in the 12th before routing the Hornets 4-3 in the 18th.
Eric Toole singled to begin the bottom of the 18th. Kris Goodman hit a one-out single to left field, but advanced to second on a throwing error. With runners on third and second, John Barrett drove in the game-winner with a sacrifice fly to the outfield.
Iowa (31-11) travels to Michigan for a three-game Big Ten series on Friday.
