Indiana pitcher Kyle Hart powered the Hoosiers to a 7-1 win Friday against the Iowa Hawkeyes in Game 1 of their three-game series in Bloomington.
Hart threw a complete game, giving up just four hits while striking out five. He gave up no walks and hit one batter.
Iowa would score one run in the seventh inning to cut the game to 3-1, but a three-run home run by Luke Miller powered a four-run eighth to put the game away. The Hoosiers hit three homers in the game.
The Hawkeyes fell to 16-16 and 5-4 in the Big Ten Conference on the year. Game 2 of the series is at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday.
