Two forgettable rematches await Hawkeyes on ESPN's Super Tuesday
Assuming no large metal beams fall from the ceiling, the Iowa men's basketball team will play two "Super Tuesday" games on ESPN this coming season.
ESPN's Super Tuesday lineup — which runs for nine weeks, beginning Jan. 6 — includes Iowa at Wisconsin on Jan. 20 (6 p.m. CT), and Iowa at Indiana on March 3 (8 p.m. CT).
The lineup of games was revealed in a joint Big Ten Conference/ESPN release.
Fran McCaffery's Hawkeyes are coming off a roller-coaster season in which they roared to a top-10 ranking and faded late in the season. Iowa ended up 20-13 and lost in the First Four portion of the NCAA tournament against Tennessee.
The rematch at Wisconsin was the site of the infamous Fran McCaffery double-technical ejection, a game Iowa lost.
The rematch at Indiana will revisit last year's postponement of a game (that that Hawkeyes eventually lost) because Assembly Hall's ceiling started falling apart on game day.
Iowa's schedule is gradually coming together. Earlier this week, it was announced Iowa's ACC/Big Ten Challenge game at North Carolina on Dec. 3 will tip off at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
The remainder of Iowa's schedule will be released in the coming weeks, Iowa sports information said.
