Big Ten, Big East announce Gavitt Games

Iowa will face Marquette for the first time since 1982 on Nov. 19 in Milwaukee as part of the first Gavitt Games.

The Hawkeyes-Golden Eagles matchup is one of eight games that will be played between teams from the Big Ten and Big East conferences, the latter of which the series' namesake, Dave Gavitt, was founder and first commissioner of.

Iowa will travel to Marquette's home arena, the BMO Harris Bradley Center, which is also the home of the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1.

The other contests are: Georgetown at Maryland, Nov. 17. DePaul at Penn State, Nov. 17. Nebraska at Villanova, Nov. 17. Illinois at Providence, Nov. 18. Creighton at Indiana, Nov. 19. Rutgers at St. John's, Nov. 19. Xavier at Michigan, Nov. 20.
