Iowa senior forward Jarrod Uthoff has been invited to participate in the inaugural Nike Basketball Academy June 26-30 in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 6-foot-9 Uthoff, who started all 34 games last season and is expected to be the Hawkeyes' go-to guy in 2015-16, averaged 12.4 points and 6.4 rebounds as a junior. He also led Iowa with 54 3-pointers.

Iowa coach Fran McCaffery has high expectations for Uthoff this season.

"I think Uthoff is a guy who could be a star, not only in our league but nationally, and that's what I'm expecting of him," McCaffery said.

The Nike event is expected to include NBA players like LeBron James and Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans.
