Peter Jok's senior season as the main man on Iowa's basketball team is going quite well.

The West Des Moines Valley product on Monday was named the Big Ten Conference's player of the week after he averaged 28.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in two games.

Jok scored a career-high 30 points in Thursday's 91-83 loss to Seton Hall, then poured in 27 in just 19 minutes in a 95-67 rout of UT Rio Grande Valley on Sunday. For the season, Jok has scored 97 points in 104 minutes of floor time for averages of 24.3 points per game and a staggering 0.93 per minute.

“I was trying to start the game hot and get everybody to follow me," Jok said Sunday. "I was at my pace. I didn’t let them rush me or anything."

Iowa's Peter Jok registered career highs of 30 points and 11 rebounds in a Thursday loss to Seton Hall.

Jok shot 20-for-34 (59 percent) from the floor last week and 10-for-10 from the free-throw line.

The Hawkeyes (3-1) next head to the Emerald Coast Classic in Destin, Fla., with Friday's 6 p.m. contest against sixth-ranked Virginia (CBS Sports Network) with a Saturday game against either Providence or Memphis.
