Hawk Central podcast: Our first 'Basketball Road-Trip Draft' episode

IOWA CITY, Ia. — You asked for it. (Well, a few of you asked for it.)
And we delivered. (Well, we tried to deliver.)
For the last three years, Register columnist Chad Leistikow and reporter Mark Emmert have enjoyed a friendly competition/exercise when it comes to divvying up Iowa men's basketball road-trip coverage. There's a lot of effort that goes into covering every road game, and every year brings different stories ... both on the court and on the road.
In this 50-minute episode, we share every moment of what we're calling our "Basketball Road-Trip Draft." We take you from the coin flip to the last pick that nobody wanted. We also take the time to talk a little Hawkeye preseason hoops, too.
It's a great road schedule. The Palestra in Philadelphia. The Carrier Dome in Syracuse. Games at Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Indiana, Maryland. The 2019-20 Hawkeyes even have a regular-season game at the United Center in Chicago and a two-game tournament in Las Vegas, baby.
We hope you enjoy the stories we shared from our past trips and the logistics of this whole thing. If you like it, let us know and maybe we'll make this an annual thing.
