Iowa to play Virginia in Big Ten/ACC Challenge

For the second straight season, the Iowa women's basketball team will hit the road for the annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
Iowa will face Virginia on Dec. 2 at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va. as part of the ninth annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
It will be the third meeting between the two teams and the first since 2002.
Iowa won each of the first two meetings including a first-round NCAA Tournament victory over the Cavaliers in 2002.
Iowa is coming off a 26-8 season in which it advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1996.
Virginia was 17-14 last season under head coach Joanne Boyle and finished 7-9 in ACC play.
Iowa is 2-6 all-time in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Iowa defeated Syracuse at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in 2013-14 season and fell at Louisville 86-52 last season.
