Iowa women come up short at Indiana
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The Iowa women’s basketball team fell short in Thursday’s Big Ten Conference game at Indiana.
The Hoosiers rallied from a 15-point halftime deficit to defeat the Hawkeyes, 79-74. Indiana (13-9, 5-5) remains the lone unbeaten team in the conference at home with a 10-0 record.
Iowa (15-7, 5-5) led 16-15 at the end of the first quarter and took a 38-23 lead at the break. But, the Hoosiers sparked in the second half, trailing just 58-47 after the third quarter and ignited for 32 fourth-quarter points. Amanda Cahill led Indiana with a game-high 24 points. She also collected eight rebounds.
Whitney Jennings scored a team-high 22 points for the Hawkeyes, and Ally Disterhoft followed suit with 20 points. Megan Gustafson recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards in the loss.
Iowa will host No. 14 Michigan State at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
