Iowa will close its June recruiting period with a big-time visit.

Fort Wayne North Side's Keion Brooks

Five-star forward Keion Brooks has scheduled an unofficial visit with the Hawkeyes on June 27, a source with direct knowledge of the situation told the Register.

247Sports ranks Brooks, a Fort Wayne, Indiana, product, the No. 7 prospect in 2019. He's considering Iowa alongside the rest of the schools in his top 10: Michigan, Michigan State, Texas, North Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana, UCLA, Georgetown and Purdue.

Of all the Hawkeyes' lofty 2019 recruiting targets, Brooks (6-foot-8, 185 pounds) could be the most ambitious. But Brooks' expected visit this week to Iowa City underscores that the Hawkeyes are in this race.

Assistant coach Andrew Francis has been developing a relationship with the Brooks family for several years. That relationship was a big reason Iowa secured an in-home visit with Brooks in April, when the family strengthened its relationship with Fran McCaffery, too.

Brooks recently played alongside Iowa recruit Patrick McCaffery and Iowa targets D.J. Carton and Trayce Jackson-Davis at the U18 National Team Trials. Fran McCaffery was on hand in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to watch all four.
