Jerminic Smith must've enjoyed watching Iowa rip apart Northwestern on Saturday.

The Texas high school wide receiver gave the Hawkeyes a verbal commitment the next day.

According to HawkeyeInsider.com, Smith the 6-foot-1, 180-pound wideout from South Garland High School became the 17th member of Iowa's 2015 recruiting class by committing to the Hawkeyes on Sunday.

He has 61 catches for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns in nine games this year. He also reported an offer from Texas Tech but told multiple websites he would continue to examine other schools.

"I'm still open for other offers and visits," Smith told HawkeyeReport.com, "because you never know who is watching you."

Smith's commitment comes six days after one wide receiver, Derrick Willies, told coach Kirk Ferentz he would transfer from the Iowa program.
