There was a point in June when Raequan Williams declared Iowa the front-runner in the race to secure his football talents.
Ultimately, though, the Hawkeyes watched another Big Ten opponent charge ahead at the finish line.
Michigan State landed the four-star defensive end Friday, according to Scout.com. Williams, a 6-foot-6, 280-pound Chicago native, picked the Spartans over Iowa and a lengthy list of suitors that also included Arizona, Arizona State, Missouri, Tennessee, Oregon and Penn State.
