Iowa made the final cut in the Darrion Daniels recruiting derby, but the Hawkeyes lost out at the finish line in the race for the blue-chip recruit from Dallas.
The 6-foot-4, 285-pound defensive tackle prospect committed Friday night to Oklahoma State, picking the Cowboys over Iowa, Texas Tech and Oklahoma during a nationally-televised announcement.
Daniels, rated by Rivals.com as a four-star recruit, visited Iowa last weekend.
"I came and visited Stillwater, and the campus was beautiful," Daniels said on a CBS Sports Network interview Friday. "The coaches really showed me love."
National Signing Day is on Wednesday.
