Two weeks after committing to Iowa, Florida defensive back K.J. Sails has declared himself back on the college football recruiting market. Sails, a three-star prospect from Gibsonton, Fla., announced Tuesday on Twitter that he is backing out of his pledge to the Hawkeyes.

“The University of Iowa has been nothing but respectful towards my decision and I would like to thank them for that,” Sails wrote. “Iowa is still one of the top schools on my list. I am opening up my recruitment and will have no further comments at this time.”

Sails’ decision leaves the Hawkeyes with 23 committed prospects in their 2016 class.
