Iowa's successful weekend continued Sunday, as it added its 12th recruit for the 2019 class.

Ferentz is facing a challenge in the off-season from his Iowa neighbors. After years of disagreements, trial is scheduled in February in a lawsuit that pits Ferentz and his wife against the three other families who live along a private road outside Iowa City. A judge is expected to hear testimony and decide whether the Ferentzes have breached a 2001 legal agreement and trespassed by planting trees that protrude onto Saddle Club Road. Dane Belton, a three-star defensive back out of Jesuit in Tampa, Florida, committed to the Hawkeyes after his official visit to Iowa City this weekend. He announced his decision via Twitter.

Belton, who checks in at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, picked Iowa over Pitt, Indiana and Georgia Tech, among others. The Hawkeyes offered him in late May and immediately gained traction in his recruitment thanks to their reputation for producing NFL defensive backs.

The 247Sports Composite gives Belton three stars and ranks him the No. 51 safety in 2019. Rivals also gives him three stars and ranks him Florida's No. 99 prospect in the class.

According to MaxPreps, Belton recorded 56 tackles (four for loss), four interceptions and four pass break-ups last season at Jesuit. He is Iowa's second defensive back pledge in 2019, joining Illinois safety Sebastian Castro.
