Was there a mastermind behind Greg Davis' play-calling?

IOWA CITY, Ia. – Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz was asked Tuesday whether offensive coordinator Greg Davis called the plays against Northwestern on Saturday.

Greg Davis called every play during Iowa's 48-7 win against Northwestern, the head coach said.

Conspiracy theorists suggested that offensive line coach Brian Ferentz might have been calling some plays.

The Hawkeyes' play-calling certainly was successful -- Iowa averaged 6.8 yards per play in totaling 483 yards in a 48-7 rout.

Kirk Ferentz said that Davis has called all the plays since he's been at Iowa.

"Who called them, someone from above?" Ferentz said, pointing skyward. "A psychic? Rosie the Fortune Teller?"
