Lights, camera, action: Iowa to play two night games in 2015

When Iowa and Minnesota play for Floyd of Rosedale on Nov. 14 at Kinnick Stadium, here's some advice: Bundle up.
The Big Ten Network released its prime time schedule for the 2015 football season on Monday, and the 108th meeting between the Hawkeyes and Gophers will be played under the lights.
So will Iowa's Sept. 19 game with Pittsburgh, also at Kinnick Stadium. The Iowa-Minnesota game will be carried across the entire BTN viewing area. The Iowa-Pittsburgh will be shown in the Iowa market as well as avenues like BTN2Go.
Kickoff times for the Minnesota and Pittsburgh games will be released at a later date.
This marks the first time Iowa will play two home night games in the same season. It will also be the Hawkeyes' 11th and 12th night games at Kinnick Stadium and the first since the 2012 season. Iowa is 6-4 in home night games.
Athletic director Gary Barta told the Des Moines Register over the weekend that he was optimistic that Iowa would be included in the prime time schedule.
"We're excited about the night game selections," Barta said in a press release Monday. "We know our fans enjoy the special electricity that fills Kinnick Stadium when we're playing under the lights. We're also appreciative of BTN's interest in our football program and the support we received from our partners on the University of Iowa campus and in the community when agreeing to two opportunities for our student-athletes to compete in what is a special environment."
In addition to the excitement surrounding a night game, Iowa hopes the prime time dates will boost ticket sales. The school's marketing department rolled out a promotional video as soon as the Big Ten Network released the prime time schedule Monday afternoon.
