Defensive back Malik Rucker has decided to leave the Iowa football program and transfer to another school, coach Kirk Ferentz said in a statement Tuesday.
"We have honored Malik's request to be released from his scholarship and we wish him well in the future," Ferentz said in the release.
Rucker, a 6-foot, 180-pound sophomore from Minneapolis, Minn., hasn't been able to crack Iowa's two-deep as a cornerback. He did see action in the Hawkeyes' spring game April 25. Rucker played in six games in 2014, making five tackles.
