Iowa's football schedule taking shape as two early kickoffs revealed

Iowa has been assigned two October morning football games by the Big Ten Conference.

The AP says Kirk Ferentz will lead the Hawkeyes to two bowls in the 2015-16 bowl season.

When Illinois comes to Kinnick Stadium for the first time since 2007, it'll be for an 11 a.m. Homecoming game on Oct. 10.

The following Saturday, Oct. 17, Iowa will visit Northwestern at 11 a.m. The conference revealed some start times, mostly in Homecoming games, late this week.

Both 11 a.m. games will be televised, either by ABC, Big Ten Network or an ESPN network (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU).

The announcement comes on the heels of two 7 p.m. games scheduled at Kinnick Stadium, Sept. 19 (vs. Pittsburgh) and Nov. 14 (vs. Minnesota). Iowa has a 6-4 all-time record in home night games.

Four kickoff times down, eight to go -- including the Cy-Hawk showdown Sept. 12 at Iowa State. Per the University of Iowa, the Big Ten "is expected to announce start times for the first three weeks of the season in the near future."
