Former Hawkeye Kenny to continue football career at Arizona
John Kenny, who announced this month that he was leaving the Iowa football program, said on Twitter Thursday that he was transferring to Arizona to continue his career.
Kenny was recruited by the Wildcats as a senior at Carmel High School in Carmel, Ind. Kenny came to Iowa as a linebacker, but was moved to fullback last season as a redshirt freshman after returning starter Adam Cox was lost for the season with a knee injury and Macon Plewa struggled with a shoulder injury.
With Cox and Plewa back in 2015, Kenny was moved back to linebacker but got caught up in a numbers game there. He wasn't on Iowa's two-deep during spring practice. Kenny was used mainly as a blocker last season. He had no carries and four catches for 27 yards.
