Iowa rises to No. 3 in both major polls

Iowa's case for being included in the top four of the College Football Playoff poll this week is becoming stronger.

The 11-0 Hawkeyes, the lone unbeaten left in the Big Ten, rose to No. 3 in the USA Today's Amway Coaches Poll and the AP poll on Sunday.

On Tuesday, the newest batch of the College Football Playoff rankings will come out. Iowa was No. 5 last week, and the top four at the end of the season make the playoffs to play for the national championship.

Iowa still has games against Nebraska and the Big Ten East champion before those final CFP rankings comes out Dec. 6.
