IOWA CITY, Ia. – The first episode of Friday Night Lights starring the Iowa football team is officially set for April 8 at Valley Stadium.

Details emerged Wednesday surrounding the Hawkeyes’ fourth annual open practice in West Des Moines, with a new format: A Friday evening practice, with a free youth clinic to follow.

Gates will open at 4:30 p.m., followed by an autograph session at 5:30, then the open practice at 6. The first 275 children (ages 7-12) who sign a release-of-liability form provided at the stadium can participate in the clinic, which also includes a free T-shirt. Parents and guardians will not be allowed on the field during the clinic.

Admission is free. Other need-to-know details: No outside food or drink is permitted, though there will be concessions available. Roster cards, posters and 2016 ticket information will be provided at all open gates. Tailgating is not permitted in the surrounding parking areas, including at next-door Valley Church.

The three previous excursions to West Des Moines were Saturday afternoon practices.
