Iowa sending Beathard, King and Jewell to Big Ten media days

Senior quarterback C.J. Beathard, junior linebacker Josey Jewell and senior cornerback Desmond King will represent Iowa at the Big Ten football media days gathering July 26 in Chicago.

Each team brings three athletes along with its head coach for photo sessions and live interviews in the official kickoff to Big Ten football season.

Josey Jewell will be the rare junior to represent Iowa's football team at Big Ten media days later this month.

It's unusual for Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz to select a junior to be among the Hawkeye representatives. Jewell, a native of Decorah, had 119 tackles as a sophomore.

In addition, West Des Moines Dowling Catholic graduate Amara Darboh will be one of Michigan's three athletes. He is a graduate student wide receiver.
