Northern Illinois football players and coaches took a moment to say hello to the children at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital before Saturday's game.

Iowa fans wave to patients at the University of Iowa Children's Hospital during the Hawkeyes' game against No. 4 Penn State at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017.

The "Hawkeye Wave" became a college football phenomenon last season when fans and athletes at Iowa football home games would stand and wave directly at the patients at the hospital, which is located directly next to Kinnick Stadium.

Northern Illinois tweeted out a video from its team account on Thursday morning to introduce themselves to the kids before the game.
