Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz says he thinks cut block penalties should be reviewable, like targeting calls are. Chad Leistikow, Hawk Central
IOWA CITY, Ia. — Iowa will get reinforcements on the health front for Saturday night’s showdown.
Running back Ivory Kelly-Martin (ankle), wide receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette (shoulder) and right guard Cole Banwart (lower leg) are all active against Wisconsin. The Hawkeyes’ injured trio went through pregame warmups without any limitations.
Last week’s 38-14 win over Northern Iowa was the first absence for Smith-Marsette and Banwart, while Kelly-Martin had been sidelined the last two games. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz was hopeful earlier in the week that all three would return.
Kelly-Martin and Smith-Marsette add more weapons to the Hawkeyes’ offensive attack. Redshirt senior Dalton Ferguson remained the starting right guard during pregame warmups. But regardless, Banwart’s return provides more depth up-front.
