The Iowa football team pitched a shutout against Maryland on Saturday.

A day after that 23-0 victory, the Hawkeyes are now a top-20 team in the latest Amway Coaches Poll.

The Hawkeyes (6-1, 3-1) rose four spots following the victory — to No. 18 in this week's poll, released late Sunday morning. Last week was the first week Iowa had been ranked.

Iowa will get a chance to take a substantial leap next week if it can beat No. 16 Penn State on the road on Saturday.
