Iowa's Keith Duncan named to USA TODAY preseason All-American team

Keith Duncan won't kick for Iowa this fall. That doesn't change the fact the he's college football's top kicker entering the season.

The Hawkeye specialist was named preseason first-team All-American by USA TODAY Sports on Wednesday. Duncan and Iowa are expected to play this spring after the Big Ten delayed its season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Clemson's Trevor Lawrence drew first-team honors ahead at quarterback over Ohio State's Justin Fields on the USA TODAY Sports preseason All-America teams, which includes players from every conference except Conference USA even as four Bowl Subdivision leagues have opted to not play this coming season.

The preseason teams also include players who opted out of competing due to COVID-19 and entered the NFL draft.

Ranked No. 1 in the preseason Amway Coaches Poll, Clemson is represented by Lawrence, a junior, and senior running back Travis Etienne. The first-team offense also includes Oregon left tackle Penei Sewell, perhaps the nation's best overall player, and star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase from defending national champion LSU.

While he has opted against playing this fall and decided to enter the 2021 draft, former Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons is the star defender among fellow standouts such as LSU cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. and Florida State defensive tackle Marvin Wilson.
