Iowa forward Olivia Fiegel was named the Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
The Springfield, Va., native scored two goals on three shots after guiding the Hawkeye women's soccer team to a road split during games against Iowa State and Iowa last week.
She scored her first career goal — a game-winner — in Iowa's 2-0 rivalry victory over the Cyclones, and followed suit by netting the Hawkeyes' lone goal at Colorado.
It is the second straight week an Iowa player has received weekly honors. Junior Karly Stuenkel was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 6.
Iowa (6-2-0) hosts Michigan at 7 p.m. for its Big Ten opener.
