Iowa's high school football state playoffs begin this Friday, and there's a loaded field of future college talent. Here's a breakdown of some of the top Division I prospects to watch throughout the state this November.

Class 4A

No. 6 Southeast Polk vs. No. 9 Ankeny

Brody Brecht, WR, 2021, Ankeny

Holds offers from Iowa, Iowa State and Nebraska. Three-star, top-400 junior prospect. Enters playoffs with 29 catches for 665 yards and six touchdowns.

Xavier Nwankpa, DB/ATH, 2022, Southeast Polk

Holds offers from Nebraska, Iowa State and Nebraska. Has 45.5 tackles, two interceptions returned for touchdowns and 32 carries for 192 yards and two scores.

Jayden Williams, RB/ATH, 2021, Valley

Holds a Northern Illinois offer, on the radar of several other Midwest D-I programs. Enters playoffs with 734 yards and eight touchdowns on 92 carries.

Matthew Mahoney, WR, 2021, Valley

Holds interest throughout the Midwest. Enters playoffs with 19 catches for 231 yards and four touchdowns.

Aaron Smith, DB/ATH, 2021, Waukee

Holds interest from Iowa and Iowa State. Versatile, 5-foot-11 athlete with 21 tackles, a 67-yard pick-six, 508 rushing yards on 37 carries and 10 catches for 226 yards.

Eddie Saidat, DE/TE, 2021, Waukee

A 6-2, 210-pounder who plays mostly tight end right now with Waukee. Has 27 catches for 335 yards and two touchdowns.

Gabe Burkle, TE, 2022, Prairie

Massive, 6-7, 230-pound sophomore with plenty of eyes on him. Enters playoffs with six catches for 126 yards and two touchdowns.
