The final weekend of October brought us some wild results. But little changed in the outlook for the College Football Playoff.
Alabama still leads Clemson, Notre Dame and Ohio State as two of the foursome were idle this past weekend. The Tigers and Irish, meanwhile, cruised to easy victories.
So what has changed?
Kentucky's improbable win against Missouri has put the Wildcats in position for a New Year's Six bowl with the possibility of more if they can get by Georgia this week.
Texas dropped out of a major bowl with its loss to Oklahoma State, allowing conference brethren West Virginia to grab its place in the Fiesta.
Meanwhile, Washington State now rates as the Pac-12 favorite and has the inside track to the Rose Bowl.
A reminder: Some conferences may not fulfill their bowl allotment. Asterisks denote a replacement pick.
