SportsPulse: Miss college football action already? Well, Trysta Krick and Paul Myerberg tell us what to look forward to next season. USA TODAY
Since the start of the college football regular season, USA TODAY Sports has been tracking how each team in the Bowl Subdivision has fared relative to preseason expectations. Now, with the season complete, let's hand out some grades.
It's time to issue report cards for all 130 teams, with marks ranging from A+ through a complete failure — the dreaded F. Five teams, including Southern California, drew a failing grade. Six teams aced the grade with an A+, led by Clemson.
Remember that grades are subject to how each team was predicated to fare back in August. For example, Baylor finishing 7-6 is different than Miami (Fla.) doing the same, since the Bears were coming off a 1-11 season and Miami was predicted to contend for a conference championship and New Year's Six bowl berth. Baylor drew an A- while the Hurricanes earned a D+ grade.
So put those pencils down, log off the computer, pass in your final exam and sit patiently while the grades are compiled. Here's the 2018 report card:
